Job Summary: As a skilled Asphalt Laborer, you will play an important role in the paving process, including lute raking, shoveling, and other tasks to ensure the quality and smoothness of the asphalt. You will work closely with the paving crew on various projects, including highways, streets, parking lots, and driveways. You will assist with spreading, raking, and compacting asphalt materials, always prioritizing safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform lute raking to distribute asphalt evenly, ensuring a smooth surface.
  • Assist in shoveling, raking, and preparing asphalt for paving.
  • Operate a variety of hand tools and small equipment to support paving operations.
  • Follow safety policies and practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a paving crew, communicating with coworkers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
  • Adapt to varying job site conditions, including weather changes, and maintain quality work standards.

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with asphalt is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to complete projects.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Valid driver's license is preferred.
  • Willingness to adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure work environment.
