Grading Foreman / Heavy Equipment Operator
Asphalt Contractors, Inc. is looking for an experienced Grading Foreman to lead field grading operations on commercial, roadway, and municipal construction projects throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable both operating equipment and directing crews in the field. The ideal candidate has strong grading knowledge, understands production and site preparation, and can keep projects moving safely and efficiently under changing jobsite conditions.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate grading and earthmoving equipment including graders, dozers, excavators, loaders, and skid steers
- Direct and coordinate daily grading crew operations on active construction sites
- Prepare subgrades and stone base to meet project elevations and tolerances
- Review site plans, grades, and project requirements prior to and during construction
- Coordinate with paving, milling, trucking, and concrete crews to maintain workflow and schedules
- Identify and resolve field issues related to grading, drainage, compaction, or site conditions
- Monitor production, workmanship quality, and crew performance throughout the project
- Conduct daily safety discussions and enforce company and OSHA safety standards
- Complete daily reporting related to labor, equipment usage, site conditions, and production progress
- Assist with equipment inspections and communicate repair or maintenance needs
Qualifications
- Previous grading foreman or heavy civil construction leadership experience preferred
- Strong understanding of grading operations and site preparation for paving and concrete work
- Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead crews and make decisions in the field
- Valid driver’s license required
- CDL is a plus
- English communication skills required for jobsite coordination and safety compliance
